The Lovely Voice of Erin Bode

About four years ago, I became acquainted with the music of Erin Bode, a St. Louis based singer, whose musical range runs from jazz to folk to blues and more. I tend to like singers who aren't boxed into one genre, like Eva Cassidy and the Hayburners to name only a couple. Erin Bode is one of these people. With a strong and lovely voice demonstrating great control and emotion, she can convey so much in a song and make it sound effortless. Her husband Sid Rodway plays bass and saxophone in her group, bringing a solid and gorgeous sound to the songs.

For a taste of some of her songs, check out "Don't Take Your Time," an appearance on the CBS Morning Show, and her website. The song Holiday is also great. Heck, all of her songs great. :)

If any of the 3 people who read this blog want to share their musical likes, please let me know and I'll check them out.

Thanks for posting about Erin Bode, a favorite singer of mine as well. As you probably know, Erin's first album carried a dedication to Eva. I was so touched by the album (as well as those that followed) that I sent a new copy to the Cassidy family to make certain that they knew of the effort. I understand that they had previously been unaware of the recording.

Oh - about my own suggestions, here are two...

Thanks! Scott
