This evening, Rob Susil passed away. He is at peace, God willing, and helping his dear wife, Gwyneth, through mind-numbing sorrow. I cannot imagine losing my husband so young. God only knows why good people are taken so young with growing families.
God rest the soul of Robert, and give His strength and comfort to Gwyneth and little William. Words fail me to express my condolences to them. Love and prayers surround you and lift you up.

Rob and Gwyneth are good friends and it is numbing to think about this loss. When a priest friend called tonight telling me the news, I was shocked. The mystery of evil -- that a good and decent man like Rob with so many gifts would be taken at such a young age -- simply boogles the mind. While I knew Gwyneth first, I was so graced to know Rob through them. The memories flood in tonight including a wonderful meal at with them at the beginning of December for Rob's birthday. I cannot even process this. All I know is that I was blessed to have known Rob and call him a friend. May he rest in the peace of Christ and intercede for those of us who still walk towards his new home.
Hi, Conor,
Thanks for writing. Gwyneth was a couple of years behind me at UD, and I only met Rob once. That one time was enough to see what a humble, incredibly smart and down-to-earth person he was. We are blessed to have people like Rob and Gwyneth in our lives.
Hi, Jenny:
Paul & I were in tears last night reading Rob's blog and the last comment that was posted there by Gwyneth. Like you, I can't imagine losing my husband so early in my marriage. I am heartbroken for them, and I know Paul will be, too, when I give him the news. Thanks for posting. We'll keep Gwyneth and William in our prayers.
